Road Safety for Sporting Events
Static Safety Officers
Static Safety Officers form an important part of NEG Wales.
The role of a static safety officer is to ensure the safety of competitors on events at critical points such as junctions and roundabouts.
A Static Safety Officer is also there as a marker for competitors, and is responsible for ensuring they stay on course and keep to the correct route.
Our S.S.O.'s undergo a comprehensive training scheme ensuring that they have a clear understanding of cycling rules and road regulations.
